# abcNotes vs Nimbus Note

The clearest difference is ads: Nimbus Note at none against abcNotes's shown. abcNotes's advantage is ratings volume (2.9K vs 400) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 14.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. abcNotes sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Nimbus Note sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for abcNotes against 4.5 for Nimbus Note. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: abcNotes has 2.9K ratings behind it against 400, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 77% of abcNotes's written reviews are positive against 75% of Nimbus Note's.

abcNotes ships an update every 2 weeks, Nimbus Note fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
