# Codex Calc vs Totalizer

The clearest difference is rating: Totalizer at 5.0 against Codex Calc's 4.0. Totalizer also leads on ratings volume (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 12.0). Codex Calc's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 89%) and price ($0.99 vs $1.99). On update cadence, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Codex Calc costs $0.99 and Totalizer $1.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Totalizer holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Codex Calc's written reviews are positive against 89% of Totalizer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
