# Studyplus vs Progate

Studyplus and Progate both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 72% of Studyplus's written reviews are positive against 50% of Progate's. Studyplus also leads on ratings volume (336 vs 18) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Studyplus sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $5.49 per month and Progate sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Studyplus against 4.7 for Progate. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Studyplus has 336 ratings behind it against 18, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 72% of Studyplus's written reviews are positive against 50% of Progate's.

Studyplus ships an update weekly, Progate every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
