# Matrix Calculator Plus vs Maple Calculator

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Matrix Calculator Plus at none against Maple Calculator's 3. Matrix Calculator Plus also leads on iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.6). Maple Calculator's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 12 months) and ratings volume (1.5K vs 4). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Maple Calculator sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Matrix Calculator Plus asks for nothing beyond the download.

Maple Calculator holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Maple Calculator has 1.5K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Matrix Calculator Plus's written reviews are positive against 62% of Maple Calculator's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Matrix Calculator Plus ships an update every 12 months, Maple Calculator every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
