# Interval Timer vs Next Up

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Next Up at 2.8K against Interval Timer's 534. Next Up also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Interval Timer sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Next Up sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Interval Timer against 4.7 for Next Up. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Next Up has 2.8K ratings behind it against 534, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 77% and 76% positive.

Interval Timer ships an update every 4 weeks, Next Up every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
