# Interval Timer vs Core

The clearest difference is update cadence: Interval Timer at every 4 weeks against Core's every 33 months. Interval Timer also leads on ratings volume (561 vs 4). Core's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 77%) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Interval Timer sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Core sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Core holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Interval Timer has 561 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 77% of Interval Timer's written reviews are positive against 100% of Core's.

Interval Timer ships an update every 4 weeks, Core every 33 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
