# NOTE'd vs Notepad

The clearest difference is rating: Notepad at 4.3 against NOTE'd's 3.3. NOTE'd's advantage is update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 3 months) and review sentiment (43% vs 33%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NOTE'd sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Notepad sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Notepad holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NOTE'd has 354 ratings behind it against 64, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 43% of NOTE'd's written reviews are positive against 33% of Notepad's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

NOTE'd ships an update every 6 weeks, Notepad every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
