# Google Drive vs WPS Office

The clearest difference is monetization model: Google Drive at free with in-app purchases against WPS Office's subscription. Google Drive also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (7.9M vs 18K). WPS Office's advantage is review sentiment (81% vs 65%). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Google Drive sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and WPS Office sells 23 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Google Drive against 4.8 for WPS Office. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Google Drive has 7.9M ratings behind it against 18K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 65% of Google Drive's written reviews are positive against 81% of WPS Office's.

Google Drive ships an update weekly, WPS Office fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 29, 2026.
