# Google Drive vs Microsoft Copilot

Google Drive and Microsoft Copilot both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 65% of Google Drive's written reviews are positive against 28% of Microsoft Copilot's. Google Drive also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (7.9M vs 1.4M). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Google Drive sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Microsoft Copilot sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Google Drive against 4.7 for Microsoft Copilot. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Google Drive has 7.9M ratings behind it against 1.4M, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 65% of Google Drive's written reviews are positive against 28% of Microsoft Copilot's.

Google Drive ships an update weekly, Microsoft Copilot every 6 days. Both last shipped on October 26, 2026.
