# Trulia Rentals vs Section 8 Search

The clearest difference is ads: Trulia Rentals at none against Section 8 Search's shown. Trulia Rentals also leads on ratings volume (308K vs 804) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). Section 8 Search's advantage is review sentiment (78% vs 47%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Trulia Rentals holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Trulia Rentals has 308K ratings behind it against 804, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 47% of Trulia Rentals's written reviews are positive against 78% of Section 8 Search's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Trulia Rentals ships an update every 9 days, Section 8 Search fortnightly. Both last shipped on November 4, 2026.
