# Focus Wheel vs Notes from the Universe

The clearest difference is rating: Notes from the Universe at 4.9 against Focus Wheel's 3.8. Notes from the Universe also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 56 months) and ratings volume (3.2K vs 29). Focus Wheel's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 12.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notes from the Universe sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per month. Focus Wheel asks for nothing beyond the download.

Notes from the Universe holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Notes from the Universe has 3.2K ratings behind it against 29, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 78% of Focus Wheel's written reviews are positive against 71% of Notes from the Universe's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Focus Wheel ships an update every 56 months, Notes from the Universe every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
