# StringMaster vs Go Drums

The clearest difference is price: Go Drums at Free against StringMaster's $14.99. Go Drums also leads on ratings volume (1.4K vs 24) and update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months). StringMaster's advantage is review sentiment (80% vs 43%) and ads (none vs shown). On rating, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Go Drums is free to download; StringMaster costs $14.99 up front. StringMaster sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Go Drums sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for StringMaster against 4.6 for Go Drums. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Go Drums has 1.4K ratings behind it against 24, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 80% of StringMaster's written reviews are positive against 43% of Go Drums's.

StringMaster ships an update every 3 months, Go Drums monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
