# Donut Doodle vs Make Cake

The clearest difference is price: Make Cake at Free against Donut Doodle's $0.99. Make Cake also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 12 months) and rating (4.7 vs 4.4). Donut Doodle's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 7) and ads (none vs shown). On device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Make Cake is free to download; Donut Doodle costs $0.99 up front. Make Cake sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Donut Doodle asks for nothing beyond the download.

Make Cake holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Make Cake has 1.5K ratings behind it against 258, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 89% of Donut Doodle's written reviews are positive against 72% of Make Cake's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
