# Chess By Post vs Chess Game

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Chess By Post at 80% against Chess Game's 50%. Chess By Post also leads on ratings volume (254 vs 2). Chess Game's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 5 months) and rating (4.5 vs 4.3). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Chess Game holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Chess By Post has 254 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Chess By Post's written reviews are positive against 50% of Chess Game's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Chess By Post ships an update every 5 months, Chess Game weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
