# Wemo vs electric imp

The clearest difference is review sentiment: electric imp at 78% against Wemo's 7%. electric imp also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13.0). Wemo's advantage is rating (4.0 vs 3.0) and ratings volume (117K vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Wemo holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Wemo has 117K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 7% of Wemo's written reviews are positive against 78% of electric imp's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
