# Wemo vs ECO Plugs

The clearest difference is rating: Wemo at 4.0 against ECO Plugs's 2.3. Wemo also leads on ratings volume (117K vs 229). ECO Plugs's advantage is review sentiment (22% vs 7%) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 13.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Wemo holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Wemo has 117K ratings behind it against 229, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 7% of Wemo's written reviews are positive against 22% of ECO Plugs's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
