# Stopword vs Words with Prof. Wisely

The clearest difference is rating: Words with Prof. Wisely at 4.5 against Stopword's 2.7. Words with Prof. Wisely also leads on ratings volume (197 vs 3) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13.0). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Stopword sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Words with Prof. Wisely sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Words with Prof. Wisely holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Words with Prof. Wisely has 197 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of Stopword's written reviews are positive against 57% of Words with Prof. Wisely's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
