# Shutterbug Camera Shops vs GuruShots

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Shutterbug Camera Shops at none against GuruShots's 11. Shutterbug Camera Shops also leads on review sentiment (60% vs 39%) and device support (3 vs 1). GuruShots's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 months). On price there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GuruShots sells 11 one-off in-app purchases. Shutterbug Camera Shops asks for nothing beyond the download.

GuruShots holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GuruShots has 5.2K ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of Shutterbug Camera Shops's written reviews are positive against 39% of GuruShots's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Shutterbug Camera Shops ships an update every 6 months, GuruShots fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
