# My Marana vs vID

The clearest difference is update cadence: vID at every 3 weeks against My Marana's every 5 months. vID also leads on ratings volume (6.6K vs 6) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). My Marana's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 85%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.5). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

My Marana holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: vID has 6.6K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of My Marana's written reviews are positive against 85% of vID's.

My Marana ships an update every 5 months, vID every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
