# The Upper Room vs Boean

The clearest difference is update cadence: Boean at fortnightly against The Upper Room's every 2 months. The Upper Room's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.4) and ratings volume (2.5K vs 111). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Upper Room sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Boean sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

The Upper Room holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Upper Room has 2.5K ratings behind it against 111, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 39% of The Upper Room's written reviews are positive against 45% of Boean's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

The Upper Room ships an update every 2 months, Boean fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
