# Text Me vs Text ▹

The clearest difference is monetization model: Text Me at free with in-app purchases against Text ▹'s subscription. Text Me also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (674K vs 3.8K). Text ▹'s advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Text Me sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Text ▹ sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Text Me holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Text Me has 674K ratings behind it against 3.8K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 29% of Text Me's written reviews are positive against 26% of Text ▹'s.

Text Me ships an update fortnightly, Text ▹ every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
