# Text Me vs Text App

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Text Me at 674K against Text App's 9.7K. Text Me also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and chart position (#11 vs #190). Text App's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.6). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Text Me sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Text App sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Text Me against 4.6 for Text App. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Text Me has 674K ratings behind it against 9.7K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 29% of Text Me's written reviews are positive against 34% of Text App's.

Text Me ships an update fortnightly, Text App every 2 months. Both last shipped on November 5, 2026.
