# Tiny Calendar vs Countdown

The clearest difference is monetization model: Countdown at free with in-app purchases against Tiny Calendar's subscription. Countdown also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months). On price, rating, review sentiment and ratings volume there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tiny Calendar sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per 7 days and Countdown sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Tiny Calendar against 4.7 for Countdown. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 21K and 24K respectively. Written reviews are what separate them: 76% of Tiny Calendar's written reviews are positive against 80% of Countdown's.

Tiny Calendar ships an update every 2 months, Countdown weekly. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
