# TV 2 Play vs Allente

The clearest difference is monetization model: Allente at ad-supported against TV 2 Play's subscription. Allente also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). TV 2 Play's advantage is ratings volume (503 vs 1) and review sentiment (14% vs 0%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Allente holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TV 2 Play has 503 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 14% of TV 2 Play's written reviews are positive against 0% of Allente's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TV 2 Play ships an update fortnightly, Allente monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
