# Hygrometer vs The Thermometer

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Hygrometer at 6.1K against The Thermometer's 596. Hygrometer also leads on chart position (#167 vs unranked) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 weeks). The Thermometer's advantage is iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hygrometer sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and The Thermometer sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Hygrometer against 4.7 for The Thermometer. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hygrometer has 6.1K ratings behind it against 596, so its average is the more settled of the two. Hygrometer ships an update every 3 weeks, The Thermometer every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
