# PocketCAS vs Maple Calculator

PocketCAS and Maple Calculator both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 91% of PocketCAS's written reviews are positive against 62% of Maple Calculator's. PocketCAS also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Maple Calculator's advantage is ratings volume (1.5K vs 204) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 18.0). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PocketCAS sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Maple Calculator sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for PocketCAS against 4.7 for Maple Calculator. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Maple Calculator has 1.5K ratings behind it against 204, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 91% of PocketCAS's written reviews are positive against 62% of Maple Calculator's.

PocketCAS ships an update every 3 months, Maple Calculator every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 23, 2026.
