# MyCountdown vs Countdown Buddy

The clearest difference is rating: Countdown Buddy at 4.6 against MyCountdown's 3.3. Countdown Buddy also leads on ratings volume (25K vs 4) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 6 weeks). MyCountdown's advantage is iOS requirement (8.0 vs 18.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MyCountdown sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Countdown Buddy sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Countdown Buddy holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Countdown Buddy has 25K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of MyCountdown's written reviews are positive against 68% of Countdown Buddy's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MyCountdown ships an update every 6 weeks, Countdown Buddy every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
