# The Dreamhold vs SoundEcho

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: The Dreamhold at none against SoundEcho's 1. The Dreamhold also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (15 vs 3). SoundEcho's advantage is update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 9 months) and review sentiment (100% vs 88%). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SoundEcho sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. The Dreamhold asks for nothing beyond the download.

The Dreamhold holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Dreamhold has 15 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 88% of The Dreamhold's written reviews are positive against 100% of SoundEcho's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

The Dreamhold ships an update every 9 months, SoundEcho every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
