# Chope vs Bon App!

The clearest difference is rating: Chope at 4.7 against Bon App!'s 4.5. Chope also leads on ratings volume (2.1K vs 271). Bon App!'s advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Chope holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Chope has 2.1K ratings behind it against 271, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 51% of Chope's written reviews are positive against 58% of Bon App!'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Chope ships an update monthly, Bon App! every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
