# Backgammon vs Backgammon

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Backgammon at none against Backgammon's 1. Backgammon also leads on rating (4.5 vs 4.1). Backgammon's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Backgammon sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Backgammon asks for nothing beyond the download.

Backgammon holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 597 and 709 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 32% of Backgammon's written reviews are positive against 36% of Backgammon's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Backgammon ships an update every 2 months, Backgammon every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 29, 2026.
