# GolfStatus vs ScrambleScoring

The clearest difference is monetization model: ScrambleScoring at free against GolfStatus's free with in-app purchases. ScrambleScoring also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). GolfStatus's advantage is ratings volume (637 vs 1). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ScrambleScoring holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GolfStatus has 637 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

GolfStatus ships an update monthly, ScrambleScoring every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
