# Tic Tac Toe vs Tic

Tic Tac Toe and Tic both sit at 4.2 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Tic's written reviews are positive against 64% of Tic Tac Toe's. Tic also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 12 months). Tic Tac Toe's advantage is ratings volume (157 vs 8). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Tic Tac Toe holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tic Tac Toe has 157 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of Tic Tac Toe's written reviews are positive against 100% of Tic's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Tic Tac Toe ships an update every 12 months, Tic weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
