# Tripomatic Trip Planner & Maps vs TripIdea

The clearest difference is ads: TripIdea at none against Tripomatic Trip Planner & Maps's shown. TripIdea also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6). Tripomatic Trip Planner & Maps's advantage is ratings volume (3.3K vs 3) and device support (4 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tripomatic Trip Planner & Maps sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and TripIdea sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TripIdea holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tripomatic Trip Planner & Maps has 3.3K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of Tripomatic Trip Planner & Maps's written reviews are positive against 50% of TripIdea's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Tripomatic Trip Planner & Maps ships an update every 2 weeks, TripIdea every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
