The clearest difference is in-app purchases: 14ers.com at none against WelcomeMats's 1. 14ers.com also leads on ratings volume (1.4K vs 1). WelcomeMats's advantage is update cadence (every 11 days vs every 2 months). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WelcomeMats sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. 14ers.com asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for 14ers.com against 5.0 for WelcomeMats. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 14ers.com has 1.4K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
