# AE Solitaire vs Solitaire Play

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Solitaire Play at 17K against AE Solitaire's 170. Solitaire Play also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.5). AE Solitaire's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly) and review sentiment (67% vs 56%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AE Solitaire sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Solitaire Play sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Solitaire Play holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Solitaire Play has 17K ratings behind it against 170, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of AE Solitaire's written reviews are positive against 56% of Solitaire Play's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

AE Solitaire ships an update every 2 weeks, Solitaire Play monthly. Both last shipped on November 1, 2026.
