# Star Trek Magazine vs Commando Comics

The clearest difference is rating: Star Trek Magazine at 4.2 against Commando Comics's 2.0. Star Trek Magazine also leads on ratings volume (37 vs 1). Commando Comics's advantage is review sentiment (25% vs 14%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Star Trek Magazine sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $29.99 per year and Commando Comics sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Star Trek Magazine holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Star Trek Magazine has 37 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 14% of Star Trek Magazine's written reviews are positive against 25% of Commando Comics's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Star Trek Magazine ships an update every 16 months, Commando Comics every 19 months. Both last shipped on October 29, 2026.
