# Star Wars Insider vs Star Wars

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Star Wars at none against Star Wars Insider's 10. Star Wars also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 16 months) and review sentiment (66% vs 45%). On price, rating, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Star Wars Insider sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $23.99 per 6 months. Star Wars asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Star Wars Insider against 4.4 for Star Wars. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Star Wars has 2K ratings behind it against 89, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 45% of Star Wars Insider's written reviews are positive against 66% of Star Wars's.

Star Wars Insider ships an update every 16 months, Star Wars every 2 months. Both last shipped on November 6, 2026.
