# Javelin Reader vs Grand Design Compass Connect

The clearest difference is rating: Grand Design Compass Connect at 3.9 against Javelin Reader's 2.0. Grand Design Compass Connect also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 12 months) and ratings volume (476 vs 16). Javelin Reader's advantage is review sentiment (19% vs 8%) and iOS requirement (9.3 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Grand Design Compass Connect holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Grand Design Compass Connect has 476 ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 19% of Javelin Reader's written reviews are positive against 8% of Grand Design Compass Connect's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
