# ERCOT vs HAR.com Texas Rentals

The clearest difference is rating: HAR.com Texas Rentals at 4.8 against ERCOT's 2.8. HAR.com Texas Rentals also leads on ratings volume (1.6K vs 115). ERCOT's advantage is review sentiment (39% vs 21%) and update cadence (every 4 months vs every 12 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

HAR.com Texas Rentals holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HAR.com Texas Rentals has 1.6K ratings behind it against 115, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 39% of ERCOT's written reviews are positive against 21% of HAR.com Texas Rentals's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ERCOT ships an update every 4 months, HAR.com Texas Rentals every 12 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.

**What reviewers like**

- 🌟 Finding home easy
- 👍 The best application I ever use

**What reviewers complain about**

- 🐛 This app is terrible can't look up by location it needs to be updated
- 🐛 This app is adequate if you're also utilizing HAR online as it allows you to access homes you've saved, but I've never been able to put in an address or zip code to search for homes using the app which makes it unhelpful as an app
- 🐛 This app is useless!!!
- 🐛 Right off the bat, The first question says, enter city, state or zip code.. I put in a city.. nothing happens, I put in Texas, nothing happens.. I put in a zip code and yet not able to search. After reading a few comments, I'm not surprised this app was created years ago, but neglected and no update.. I don't know if this is important enough for the developers to take notice, but I'll be using Redfin to find a house to rent since interest rates are stupid high in 2023.. thanks Biden
- 🐛 The app is overall simple, which is a good thing! It gets to the point without adding complicated menus. My problem however is that it does overheat the phone quite a bit, along with not being able to share property listings. I get the error stating that I can only share the property listing if I'm on WiFi or Cellular Data to use this HAR app. This is an app bug, because I am connected to WiFi, I've also tried using cellular data and I still get the same error

**Reported bugs**

- Unable to look up homes by location
- Unable to share property listings
- Login issues
- Filter menu not working

**Requested features**

- Ability to search for homes by location
