# ERCOT vs SPAN Home

The clearest difference is rating: SPAN Home at 3.6 against ERCOT's 2.7. SPAN Home also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 4 months). ERCOT's advantage is review sentiment (39% vs 29%) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SPAN Home holds the better App Store score, 3.6 against 2.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 113 and 103 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 39% of ERCOT's written reviews are positive against 29% of SPAN Home's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ERCOT ships an update every 4 months, SPAN Home fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 16, 2026.
