# 988 vs MY FM

The clearest difference is rating: MY FM at 5.0 against 988's 4.3. MY FM also leads on monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). 988's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (83% vs 67%). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

MY FM holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 9 and 7 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of 988's written reviews are positive against 67% of MY FM's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

988 ships an update every 2 weeks, MY FM every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
