# SFY vs Proloquo

The clearest difference is monetization model: SFY at free with in-app purchases against Proloquo's subscription. SFY also leads on rating (4.2 vs 4.0) and review sentiment (58% vs 46%). Proloquo's advantage is update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 52 months). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SFY sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Proloquo sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SFY holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 150 and 148 respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 58% of SFY's written reviews are positive against 46% of Proloquo's.

SFY ships an update every 52 months, Proloquo every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
