# Chess without ads vs CheckMate Chess

The clearest difference is iOS requirement: CheckMate Chess at 8.0 against Chess without ads's 15.0. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chess without ads sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $0.49 per 7 days and CheckMate Chess sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
