# APSO vs Coin Scanner

The clearest difference is rating: APSO at 5.0 against Coin Scanner's 4.5. APSO also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 16) and ads (none vs shown). Coin Scanner's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 38 months) and ratings volume (1.4K vs 1). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Coin Scanner sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. APSO asks for nothing beyond the download.

APSO holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Coin Scanner has 1.4K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

APSO ships an update every 38 months, Coin Scanner every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
