# Nearpod vs SAEA

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: SAEA at none against Nearpod's 10. Nearpod's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (1.9K vs 2). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Nearpod sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $159.99 per year. SAEA asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 3.1 for Nearpod against 3.0 for SAEA. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Nearpod has 1.9K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Nearpod ships an update monthly, SAEA every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
