# TrackDay for iPhone vs Hotlap

The clearest difference is price: Hotlap at Free against TrackDay for iPhone's $4.99. Hotlap also leads on review sentiment (69% vs 38%) and update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months). On rating, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Hotlap is free to download; TrackDay for iPhone costs $4.99 up front. TrackDay for iPhone sells 12 one-off in-app purchases and Hotlap sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TrackDay for iPhone holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 17 and 79 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 38% of TrackDay for iPhone's written reviews are positive against 69% of Hotlap's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TrackDay for iPhone ships an update every 2 months, Hotlap monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
