# Cost Split vs Splitser

The clearest difference is rating: Splitser at 4.9 against Cost Split's 4.6. Splitser also leads on ratings volume (585 vs 129). Cost Split's advantage is review sentiment (86% vs 76%) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.5). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cost Split sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Splitser sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Written reviews complicate that: 86% of Cost Split's written reviews are positive against 76% of Splitser's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
