# Video Scratch vs SHINOBI DJ

The clearest difference is update cadence: SHINOBI DJ at every 8 days against Video Scratch's every 4 months. SHINOBI DJ also leads on rating (4.3 vs 4.0). Video Scratch's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 44%) and iOS requirement (5.1.1 vs 15.5). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Video Scratch sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and SHINOBI DJ sells 8 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SHINOBI DJ holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 11 and 16 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Video Scratch's written reviews are positive against 44% of SHINOBI DJ's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Video Scratch ships an update every 4 months, SHINOBI DJ every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
