# Bitly vs Teleprompter

The clearest difference is rating: Teleprompter at 4.5 against Bitly's 3.3. Teleprompter also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (3K vs 171). Bitly's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and review sentiment (41% vs 12%). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Teleprompter sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Bitly asks for nothing beyond the download.

Teleprompter holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Teleprompter has 3K ratings behind it against 171, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 41% of Bitly's written reviews are positive against 12% of Teleprompter's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Bitly ships an update every 2 months, Teleprompter fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
