# Shogi vs Foldline

The clearest difference is update cadence: Foldline at monthly against Shogi's every 8 months. Shogi's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Shogi ships an update every 8 months, Foldline monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
